Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
I am very close to finishing the book I, Q by Roland Smith. So far this book is amazing. I have gotten to the falling action part of this book, which means that I am almost finished. This book is 300 pages therefore it took me two weeks. The reason I picked this book is because it contains stuff about secret services and that interests me. Another reason why I picked this book is because I have already read two books by Roland Smith (Zach’s lie and Jack’s run), which are amazing and almost my favorite books. The significances of this book are that it contains realistic fiction content where half is realistic fiction and the other half is mystery.
I did six things before, while, and after reading this book. First, there were two things I did before reading this book. One thing I did before reading this book is I skim and scanned through some text features. One thing I noticed was that since the book was about someone traveling then every time the main characters ended up in a new place it would show a picture on a map of where they are. Another thing I did before reading this book is read the synopsis in he back, which is the first thing that caught my attention to read this book. Second, there were two things I did while reading this book. One thing did while reading this book is after every detail or action I imagined it in my head as a scene in a real movie. Another thing I did while reading this book is I carefully read and after every chapter I made sure I understood what happened. Third there were two things I did after reading this book. One thing I did after reading this book is I went online looked for a summary and found out if I fully understood the whole story and didn’t miss anything.
The genre of this book is fiction-mystery. The characteristics of this book being a mystery is that it talks about two kids and one secret agent finding out if another secret agent is still alive. The main characters in this book is Angela which is the protagonist and Q’s step sister, Q Angela’s step brother and is a protagonist, Boney the protagonist who is the secret spy looking for the other secret spy, and the terrorist are the antagonist. There are a multiple amount of settings but the place in which the story starts is Nevada. The weather conditions were N/A. the social conditions were in the future. This book starts of with a couple of musicians getting married. Roger and blaze. Angela was roger’s daughter and Q was blaze’s son. Roger and Blaze are very good musicians where they are so good they are going on a cross-country tour. Q and Angela must go with them and do there school work over the computer. When they get to Nevada they come upon a man named boney. Blaze, Q’s mom, knows him. As Q finds out that Angela’s mom had died from a bomb and then found out that she died from a bomb while being a spy. After this boney has said that he is too a secret spy. As they find out that Angela’s mother is still alive they find out that someone is trying to kill them. This is where I got up to in this book and hopes to finish.
The conflict of this book is man verse society and external conflict. The tone of this book would be curious as to how the reader would feel while reading this book. The mood is very curious and just can’t wait until I find out the resolution. The theme of this book cannot yet be found because I haven’t yet finished the book. Although, the theme might be if you love something set it free. The moral of this book is never to put your head down. The point of view is third person objective. The pattern of organization is very hard because the book is very long and I haven’t yet finished it. The author’s purpose for writing this book was to entertain the reader. If I were to rate this book I would give it a ten out of 10. The reason I gave it a ten out of 10 is because the book contain very good and understandable details. Another reason why I gave this book a ten out of ten is because I got very curious after every other page. This book is probably the best book I have ever read out of all of the other eight books.
Sincerely,
Ofek Peer
