Readers Journal #8 IQ

Reader’s Journal #8: IQ
Dear Mrs. Zrhien,
I have just finished reading the book “IQ” by Roland Smith. This book is 300 pages; therefore I did not finish reading it. The reason I picked this book because I have already read two books by Roland Smith, which are Zach’s lie and Jack’s run and those book were amazing so I decided to read another one of his books. The significance of this book is that it doesn’t necessarily sort the book by chapters it sorts the book by main ideas and what the next few pages will be about.
There were six things I did before, during, and after reading this book. First I did two things before reading this book. The first thing I did before reading this book is I flipped a little bit through the pages and saw all of the books written by Roland Smith. The second thing I did before reading this book is I looked to see how many page there were and skim and scanned a little bit through about half of the book and notice how the book was organized.
I then did two things during reading this book. The first thing I did while reading this book is I imagined every single thing that was happening in my mind as if I was watching a movie on TV. The second thing I did while reading this book is I kept asking my self what do I think will happen next.
Last, I did two things after reading part of the book. One thing I did after reading part of this book is I thought of everything that I read and combined all of the information. Another thing I did was after I combine everything I read together I asked my self certain questions like how I think this book would end or what will happen next etc.
The genre of this book is a mystery. The reason that it is a mystery is because it focuses on the reader always being curious. The protagonist in this book        so far from what I read is all of the characters blaze, roger, buddy T, and Angela. So far there are no antagonist unless there are but I just haven’t gotten to that point yet. The foils are the two security guards with buddy T. the setting of this book so far is in San Francisco.
From what I have read so far is mostly the exposition. I read the part of the book where it introduces all of the characters and what they do. Roger has a daughter named and Angela. Quest Munoz but Q for short with his mother Blaze Munoz. Buddy T is Roger’s manager. Roger is a singer. Blaze and Roger are getting married therefore Q and Angela are brother and sister. Q is thirteen and Angela is fifteen and Q really liked Angela but he can now only like her as a sister.
I cannot say the conflict cause I haven’t got there yet. Although, I read the back and saw it said that Angela’s mom has been killed by a terrorist while she was working for the US secret service and the Israeli Mossod. The question I can’t answer yet is who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. The tone of this book would be very confident on how it would turn out. The mood of this book is very curious within the next pages. I haven’t finished the book so I cannot yet tell the them/motif, moral, pattern of organization, author’s purpose, and author’s perspective. The point of view is third person objective.
The main reason I picked this book was because it had the same characters of Zach’s and Jack’s run. Although, another reason I got this book was because when I read the back I saw that it was about a highly rated Israeli service.
If I was to rate this book I would rate it so far a 10 out of 10. The reason is because it gave me the specific place what is happening an how its happening. This made me feel like I was actually in the story.
                                    Sincerely,
                                                Ofek peer
