Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
I have just finished reading the book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl. The reason I picked this book is because I read a book before this one and abandoned it cause it wasn't just right. It was to late so I then decided to take this book because I thought it was the only one probably for me in my house. The significants of this book is that it is a fantasy and contains very unrelated-to-life facts. I did 6 things before, while, and after reading this book. First, I did 2 things before reading this book. The first thing I did before reading this book is I read the synopsis at the back of the book for more information. The second thing I did before reading this book is I looked at the picture and thought what it would be about. Second I did two thing while reading this book. The first thing I did was I picture every single event and setting in my mind. The second thing I did was I stopped after every single chapter and tried to remember every single thing that happened in the book. Third I did two things after reading this book. The first thing I did was I thought of all of the events/settings that I read throughout the whole book.
The genre of this book is fiction, fantasy.the reason this book is obviously a fantasy is because she does some kind of power with here eyes that can hold things up in the air with nobody/nothing holding it. The first main character was Matilda who was a young 5 and a half year old girl that loved to read book and was the protagonist in this story. The second character was miss Trunchbull and was the most hated teacher in school. She was so harsh on the other kids. Miss trunchbull was the antagonist in this story. The third character in this story was Ms. Honey. She was a nice teacher and loved Matilda so much although was a poor person. Ms honey was the protagonist in this story. The setting is not clearly included in this book (place, time, social conditions, and weather conditions). (exposition) Matilda is just a little girl who lives with a dad that makes a lot of money because he always cheats people and a mom who spends her whole day playing bingo. (rising action) its Matilda's first day at school and was put in the lowest class in the school cause Matilda's father told the head teacher Ms trunchbull that she was a little brat. (climax) ms honey, matilda's teacher and Ms trunchbulls niece, gave a test to the students that involved multiplication. Matilda did everything up until 28 highest in the class by far. She could have gone higher but Ms honey had asked to stopped. Ms honey looked surprisingly at the paper and even asked Matilda to 278 x 2, and got it right. Ms honey immediately reported to Ms trunchbull and said that Matilda should really move up to higher classes. Ms trunchbull still said no because of what her father said. (falling action) Ms honey paid some visits to Matildas parents and evrerything went very unexpectedly. Matilda's parent kept on saying that Matilds's a brat. With Matilda making new friends she heard more stories about Ms trunchbull like, she once got mad at a certain student and through her over the bushes by the piggy tail. Another story was that she found out a student who ate a piece of her cake and made then made that student eat a big chocolate cake. When he finished it looked as if he would puke everything back up. (resolution) at one point Ms trunchbull really got Matilda mad that Matilda screamed so loud and rude to Ms trunchbull that she collapsed and fainted. Since then no one saw Ms trunnchbull. Ms honey got her house and money. The police had found out that Matilda's dad has been cheating on people for more money that they had to leave to spain. Matilda obviously did not want to leave with them so she was adopted by ms honey and lived with her.
The tone of this story is the author thinks that Matilda is a very young and talented girl. The mood is that Matilda is very smart and was lucky to have Ms. Honey as her teacher. The theme of this book is when your in trouble and just can't take care of it, something will happen. The moral of this book is not to underestimate a young 5 ½ year old girl. Thepoint of view of this book is third person objective. The pattern of organization is cause and effect. The authors purpose is to entertain.
This book was pretty good and informative. It very entertaining I just couldn't get enough. The book gave me all the information I needed, whats is happening how its happening where it is happening why it is happening. Considering it is a fantasy it made it very entertaining. The reason it was very entertaining was because it gave me events that aren't even possible. Thats the entertaing part about the book being a fantasy.
If I was to rate this book out of ten I would give it a eight and a half out of ten. The reason I gave a eight and a half out of ten was because of the length of the book. The length just gave me a thought that it would include a whole bunch of details. Thats why I gave it a 8 and a half out of ten.
Sincerely,
